Answers That Build Clarity & Trust

A WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) door frame is made from a scientifically engineered blend of recycled wood fibres and thermoplastic polymers. It looks like wood but is 100% waterproof, termite-proof, fire-retardant, and requires zero maintenance — the modern replacement for traditional teak or sal wood frames in Indian construction.

Yes — WPC outperforms wood on every technical parameter. It's 100% waterproof (wood absorbs moisture), termite-proof (wood is attacked within 5-7 years in Indian climate), dimensionally stable (wood warps in humidity), and zero-maintenance (wood needs annual polishing). Lifespan is 25+ years vs wood's typical 8-12 years, while pricing is comparable to mid-grade teak — making WPC a cost-neutral upgrade.

Yes. Pathframe's WPC frames are manufactured from 60-70% recycled plastic plus 30-40% wood fibre sourced from wood-industry waste, saving mature trees. Production is zero-emission, and end-of-life frames are 100% recyclable into new WPC. Projects using WPC frames qualify for GRIHA and LEED green-building credits.

HDF (High-Density Fiberboard) is an engineered wood panel made from wood fibre compressed at 800+ kg/m³ density. Pathframe MPDs use 3 mm HDF skins on both sides bonded to a solid internal core. HDF offers superior surface flatness for the moulded panel design, holds paint/laminate well, and resists dents better than lower-density MDF.

Pathframe offers six Moulded Panel Door designs: Single Panel, 2-Panel Oak, 2-Panel Horizon, 3-Panel Oak, 3-Panel Oval, and 4-Panel Mahogany. Each design uses the same European-grade HDF skins but with distinct mould patterns to match traditional, contemporary, or colonial interior styles. All panels are compatible with WPC and Pre-Hung frame systems.

Standard MPDs are recommended for dry interior use (bedrooms, living rooms, offices). For bathrooms and wet areas, Pathframe recommends our WPC Door or moisture-sealed MPD variant with water-resistant edge banding and polymer-coated HDF skins. Ask our technical team for the bathroom-grade MPD spec when sourcing for hotels or residential bathrooms.

Pathframe MPDs with solid internal core achieve sound-transmission reduction of 28-32 dB (STC 28-32), meeting typical residential interior privacy requirements. For hotel rooms or office meeting rooms where higher privacy is needed (STC 35+), we offer acoustic-upgraded MPD variants with densified honeycomb core and perimeter seals.
